The very smell of Carmex takes me straight back to high school. I had a tub of Carmex lip balm in my blazer pocket for the entire six years.
Carmex is one of the world’s most loved lip balms; using a range of beautiful ingredients including Lanolin, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Beeswax and Menthol, the brand is best know for its much loved Carmex ‘tingle’.
I love lip products, they are my favourite make-up item hands down. I have more lipsticks than I could ever wear (thanks mum for the stocking fillers!) and I’m always keen to test out new items on the market.
These days, being a full time mum, I don’t wear lipstick as much as I wear lip balm, and I’m completely in love with tinted lip balms that moisturise and protect lips while still giving us a bit of colour – perfect for everyday life.
The Carmex Mouisture Plus range is new to stores and is the perfect companion to keep your lips smooth and plump and comes in three gorgeous shades; satin gloss finish, sheer pink and sheer peach.
I received a review sample of the Carmex moisture plus lip balm in pink – and it has very quickly become my favourite handbag item. (Along with my packet of fruit tingles.)

This product is brilliant. It moisturises instantly, making lips feel soft and smooth. It’s very long lasting, and it smells like heaven. The pink is a lovely shade, sheer and subtle and perfect for all women. The fact that it is in a lipstick format is fabulous, too. I absolutely hate having sticky fingers.
My final point is that this is not a high gloss lip balm. It leaves a lovely sheen but not a bright shine, nor is it watery. It’s very balmy, but still feels light on your lips.
I’m absolutely going to buy Carmex Moisture Plus in the other two shades of peach and clear.
These are a handbag staples, ladies.
